This old CD Rom drive uses a plastic carrier to hold 3 CDs, the whole thing being inserted and ejected from the CD Rom drive like a cartridge. The drive can switch between the CDs.

The drive contains four motors, spin motor, head positioning motor, eject motor, and disc change motor. All appear to be 5V motors. The spin motor is a direct drive of the CD, the head positioner is geared down and drives a rack and pinion drive head slide. The eject and disc change motors use a worm screw that drives gears to actuate their respective mechanisms.
