ICL 7106 Evaluation Kit

Overview

In the late 1970's an evaluation kit for the Intersil all in one Analog to Digital (ADC) chips with built in display drivers, ICL 7106 (LCD) and ICL 7107 (LED), was produced. These very successful chips are still produced today and are the engine of many digital multimeters. Although the boards are labeled “Intersil ICL7106 Evaluation Kit” 1), I'm not actually sure whether they were manufactured by Intersil.

Hardware description

There is a complete application note detailing these evaluation kits AN023 Low Cost Digital Panel Meter Designs and Complete Instructions for LCD and LED Kits.

Apparently there were other versions of this kit, eg this EEP (Energy Electronic Products) one https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/v6UAAOSwbn1eKJlJ/s-l1600.jpg, and projects built around the board, eg ‘LIDITH' -- A 3½-Digit Digital Thermometer.
